Not my "Great Heirloom," this is a fun lap quilt made in a John Flynn class. Quilted with a simple pattern as it is intended to be a well-used lap quilt.

"That's a Long Row to Hoe"

This is the 2009 raffle quilt for the Transylvania Heritage Museum in Brevard, NC. The current theme is "That's a Long Row to Hoe." Quilt designed using coloring book images and the designs are done in "redwork" hand embroidery.

Mrs. Sandburg's barn is one of my favorite places. I took photos on several visits and transferred them to fabric.

All fabric in border is pigment/dye from plants, flowers and weeds using the flower pounding technique. Also used pigma pen, thread painting. Love the organic feel!

Misty Morning is made of ultra suide. Machine quilted to a flannel base with metallic, polyester, and perle cotton threads. Embellished with beads. Yarn couched with metallic thread and top stitched.
