Happy Birthday, America! Centennial and Bicentennial Quilts Presentation

    Featuring Susan Reich (via Zoom)

Susan Reich first learned to quilt as a child at her Grandmother Martin's farm in Crawford County, PA. Like many women in the 1970s, the celebration of our country's Bicentennial sparked her love for quilt-making and an interest in the history of quilts.

Shortly after settling in Connecticut in 1980, the Connecticut Quilt Search Project began. Alongside approximately fifty dedicated women, she documented and researched 3,000 plus quilts over six years, culminating in the publication of Quilts and Quiltmakers Covering Connecticut.

That experience and her membership in the American Quilt Study Group became the spring board for many more publications. Susan has also served on the Quilts of Valor Board of Directors for the past ten years. She would like to thank our guild for our support of the Quilts of Valor Foundation and honoring our nation's service members and veterans. In 2028, the Foundation will award the Half-a-Millionth QOV.

All members, guests, and curious quilters are invited to attend guild meetings. The business meetings starts promptly at 10:00 am. For a special treat arrive 30 minutes early to shop the "rehome" table for quilting treasures!

The official social butterflies, i.e. Social Committee chairpersons, great all attendees as they arrive. All are invited to attend lunch after the meeting. Reservations for lunch, at a local restaurant, may be made at the meeting. Those attending are responsible for purchasing their own lunch.
